The
Georgia and North Carolina Mountains have some of the best antique hunting or
shopping in the world. Check
out the Whistle Stop
Mall in Franklin, NC.
Lake Chatuge.
A 133 mile lake that spans 2 states; Georgia and North Carolina.
GREAT fishing, boating and the new public beach accross from the Georgia
Mountain Fairgrounds (about 7 Minutes from the Cove). Also Jack Rabbit National
Park offers swimming, trails and picnic areas for a great outdoor day, located about 20 minutes from
Henson Cove Place (we also know a local swimming hole that is about 5 minutes
from our B&B and cabin).
Brasstown Bald. The largest mountain in Georgia.
Visitors can either ride or hike to the observation tower on the peak of the
mountain, where it is possible to see 4 states on clear days. View the area Web-Cams
by clicking HERE. The North Web-Cam looks down on Lake Chatuge and Hiawassee and on a clear day
you can see North Carolina. The South Web-Cam looks towards Blairsville,
GA and Atlanta.
Georgia Mountain Fair
has a list of Super Star Concerts and Fair events on their web site.
Hiking the famous
Appalachian Trail, (Just 5 miles down the road from
Henson Cove Place), or the 37 mile
Bartram Trail.

Track Rock Stables
that covers over 250 acres bordering the Chattahoochee National Forest offers an
adventure you will long remember. Their beautiful valley is home to wild turkey, deer, and many other types of wildlife and lush, colorful foliage.

Featuring five miles of trails, the new
Stables will primarily offer one- and two-hour guided mountain trail rides,
accommodating all experience levels, from beginner to advanced. Guests will
meander through open fields, hardwood forests and crystal-clear trout streams as
they travel throughout the property. Custom excursions, hayrides and catered
picnic rides also will be available for both individual and group outings.

Butternut Creek Golf Course.
Blairsville's 6,526-yard, 18-hole public
golf course.
Brasstown Valley Golf.
The Brasstown Valley Golf Club has been ranked by both Golf Digest and Leading
Golf Courses of America as one of the top courses to play in Georgia. Designed
by Dennis Griffiths, the golf course winds through wildlife preserves, ponds and
streams framed in by the mountains.
The Ridges Resort Golf.
A stimulating game of golf surrounded by the majestic backdrop of the North
Carolina mountains. Our 18-hole par 70 championship course designed by William
Byrd in 1992, offers a wide variety of challenges. This 6,561-yard course is
located at our Country Club in Hayesville, NC.
Other Great Attractions:
The Biltmore Mansion (America's Largest
Home) is a nice day's trek at about 2 hours away from Henson Cove Place. Its century
old gardens will astound you along with their award winning
winery. Located next to the Asheville, NC tourist center.
Chimney Rock Park
is the natural fulfillment of your trip to the mountains.
Take a deep breath of refreshing mountain air, become invigorated by hiking
trails, and let your cares fade away in the cool mists of Hickory Nut Falls.
