Lake Chatuge

A 133 sq. mile lake that spans 2 states; Georgia and North Carolina.
GREAT fishing, boating and a new public beach across from the Georgia
Mountain Fairgrounds (about 7 Minutes from the Cove). Also Jack Rabbit National
Park offers swimming, trails and picnic areas for a great outdoor day, located about 20 minutes from
Henson Cove Place. (We also know a local swimming hole that is about 5 minutes
from our B&B and cabin).
Brasstown Bald. The tallest mountain in Georgia.
Visitors can either ride or hike to the observation tower on the peak of the
mountain, where it is possible to see 4 states on clear days. View their

Henson Cove Place), or the 37 mile

Area Horseback Riding:
Track Rock Stables
that covers over 250 acres bordering the Chattahoochee National Forest offers an

Stables will primarily offer one- and two-hour guided mountain trail rides,

meander through open fields, hardwood forests and crystal-clear trout streams as

Blairsville's 6,526-yard, 18-hole public
golf course.
Brasstown Valley Golf.
The Brasstown Valley Golf Club has been ranked by both Golf Digest and Leading
Golf Courses of America as one of the top courses to play in Georgia. Designed
by Dennis Griffiths, the golf course winds through wildlife preserves, ponds and
streams framed in by the mountains.
The Ridges Resort Golf.
A stimulating game of golf surrounded by the majestic backdrop of the North
Carolina mountains. Our 18-hole par 70 championship course designed by William
Byrd in 1992, offers a wide variety of challenges. This 6,561-yard course is
located at our Country Club in Hayesville, NC.

Great Smoky Mountain Railroad

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
The regular 4 hour, 26 mile round trip winds along the beautiful Toccoa River in
vintage climate controlled or open air railcars. The relaxing ride starts at the
historic depot, built in 1905 in downtown Blue Ridge, then stops for a layover
in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN where visitors
have a two hour layover; plenty of time to eat lunch, shop for unique crafts and
antiques, snack on ice cream, visit the Operating Model Railroad display or
explore the areas.
